• Megan Conway

    Co-Owner, Head Coach Trampoline Program

    Megan fell in love with gymnastics at the age of 4 and has carried that passion through her entire life. She has been coaching gymnastics for over 30 years at every level. She is NCCP certified Level 4, the highest certification. She has coached multiple regional, provincial, national and international medalists. She has been a club developer in both non-profit and for-profit gyms, and has successfully built programs from 200-800 members every year.

    She is a busy mom of 2, ages 8 and 16 who have also fallen in love with gymnastics. In her free time, you can find her at the local CrossFit gym, Yoga studio, or swimming club. She has a wanderlust soul and has spent much of her life traveling when she can. She has reached the half-way goal of visiting 50 countries in her lifetime! She loves coaching and wants her athletes to be happy and proud of who they are in the gym.

  • Halie Kachmar

    Co-Owner, WAG Head Coach

    Halie was born and raised in Richmond, and now resides in Nanaimo as an owner and operator of VIP Gymsports. Halie has been involved in gymnastics for 17 years as an athlete, and as a coach for the past 6 years. She has a true passion to bring fun and fitness to our local youth. Halie is NCCP Certified Competition Level 1, and also Parkour. Halie was awarded 2019 Gymnastics BC top recreational coach of the year.

    Halie is working on her degree is Child and Youth Care, and wants to bring recreational, pre-school and parkour programs to Nanaimo’s youth and adults. She is currently a coach academy student at Pacific Sport Vancouver Island gaining accreditation in Introduction Competition as well as Competition Development. Halie is passionate about gymnastics and wants to share her love of sport with the Nanaimo community.

    When she’s not in the gym, Halie enjoys dirt biking, spending time with her dog and being with family on her days off. Halie loves to explore photography and express her creativity through the lens. v

  • Mary Morice

    Coach, Recreational & Competitive

    Mary has been involved with gymnastics for over 35 years in B.C. She loves working with all ages to develop a love of movement and play. Her professional roles have included participant, competitor, competitor, recreational and competitive coach, NCCP coach developer, coach mentor, coach evaluator, BC GFA, committee member, BC GFA committee chair, Gymnastics BC Board of Directors member, and General Manager of a non-for-profit club. Her professional goal is that every child is given every opportunity to succeed and build confidence through! Mary is also a mom and outdoor enthusiast. She lives with her husband, 2 kids, a gecko and her beloved dog Candi in Nanaimo, BC.

  • Taylor Pillinger

    Athlete, Coach, Trampoline & Tumbling, Recreational & Competitive

    Originating from Toronto, Ontario, Taylor has been doing gymnastics for over a decade! She has traveled to Russia and Tokyo to compete in World Age Groups. She started coaching in 2018 and has developed a strong passion for passing on the love of the sport to our local athletes. She wants the kids she coaches to have a positive experience with gymnastics, to love coming to the gym and she is prepared to challenge those wanting a more competitive experience.

    Taylor loves the outdoors, spending her time at the beach with her dog and get out on the water as much as she can. She hopes to coach and compete for the foreseeable future!

  • Adin Brenner

    Athlete, Coach, Trampoline & Tumbling

    Adin comes to us with 16 years of gymnastics experience, as well as 2 years of coaching in the sport. He has competed all over the World, at the Indo-Pacific Games in New Zealand, the World Age Groups in Denmark and Bulgaria, and took Gold in the Junior PanAm Games in Bolivia.

    Growing up on Bowen and Gabriola, Adin has an infectious love for the Island and it’s superb beaches. Eventually, he wishes to finish his Bachelor’s in Feminist Studies and focus on his new baby!

    Adin brings a fun and optimistic approach to coaching, and is passionate about making Gymnastics a positive and challenging experience for all ages.

  • Elan Baildham-Troje

    Coach, Recreational & Competitive Gymnastics

    Elan is a local Islander and thrilled to be coaching at our gym! She has been a gymnast for 8 years and coaching for the last few. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in BioChemistry and also works part-time as a Pharmacy Assistant. Eventually, she hopes to pursue a career in Sports Physiotherapy. She is currently working on her Level One Certification.

    In her free time, she can be found mountain biking our local mountains, hiking trails, or otherwise being outdoors. She loves coaching and hopes to bring her love for the sport to aspiring athletes!

  • Josée Simard

    Coach, Recreational Gymnastics

    Originating from Victoria, BC, Josée has done a variety of competitive gymnastics and dance throughout her life. She discovered at a young age that she wanted to share her love of gymnastics with other athletes and volunteered to help out with birthday parties in the gym and assisted acro dance classes as well. She started coaching gymnastics in 2019 and wishes to give each athlete she teaches a coach they can trust, look up to and that supports them. She wants to share her love for the sport with every athlete she coaches.

    Josée loves being active and spending time with her friends and family. She still dances today, with the VIU Spirit Team, and helps to support the team as much as she can. She hopes to inspire many athletes to love gymnastics as much as her throughout her coaching career.
